Topics:  Discuss working with PivotTables and PivotCharts

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 36 Try-Its on pp. 621-626 together. They will need to save their work into practice folder on their flash drive.

Wednesday-

Topics:  PivotTables and PivotCharts

Activities:  Students will reinforce yesterday’s learning by completing the Lesson 36 practice and Apply on pp. 626-629 on the computer.  Students will need to save work to Excel folder on flash drive and print when complete.

Thursday- Friday

Topics:  Test review over using advanced functions in Excel

Activities:  Students to complete Test review questions using notes, book, and computer.

Monday

Topics:  Using advanced functions for Data Analysis

Activities:  Students will reinforce yesterday’s learning b y completing the Lesson 34 Practice and Apply on pp. 611-613 on the computer.  Students will need to save to Excel folder on flash drive and print when complete.

Tuesday-Wednesday

Topics:  Using Lookup functions in Excel

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 35 Try-Its on p. 615 together.  (Save work into Practice folder).  They will then complete Job 91 to reinforce the Vertical Lookup function. Students will need to save work into Excel folder on flash drive then print where indicated.

Thursday-Friday

Topics:  Review HLookup function in Excel

Activities:  Students to complete Job 92 over HLookup function on the computer.  Students will need to save work into Excel folder on flash drive then print where indicated.

Monday-

Topics:  Exam results; objectives for next chapter (advanced functions)

Activities:  Students to define the vocabulary for the next section in Excel over Advanced functions from pp. 596, 603-4, 614, 620 (21 words).  If students type words on computer, they will need to save work as Advanced Excel functions into the Excel folder of their flash drive and print.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Using advanced functions to predict trends

Activities:  Students will practice new skills on the computer as we go through the Lesson 33 Try-Its on pp. 597-600 together.  Students will need to save their work into their Practice folder on their flash drive.

Activities:   Students to take notes over creating charts in Excel, practice skills, then complete Job 58 over column charts on the computer.  Students will save into Excel folder on flash drive and print work when complete.

Wednesday–

Topics:  Creating pie charts in Excel

Activities:  Students to take notes over creating a pie chart in Excel, practice skills, then complete Jobs 13 & 60 on the computer.  Students will save into Excel folder on flash drive and print work when complete.

Thursday-

Topics:  Reinforce skills dealing with creating charts in Excel

Activities:  Students will complete Jobs 61 & 62 over creating different types of chart in Excel.  Students will save into Excel folder on flash drive and print work when complete.

Friday-

Activities:  Students will be given time to finish any unfinished computer work from this week.

Monday-Tuesday

Topics:  Reinforcement of PMT function in Excel and other personal business topics

Activities:  Students are to find two vehicles that they would like to purchase.  Must find cost of vehicle on Internet and note website where found.  Students are to then figure out monthly payments on their vehicles given different criteria.  Save and print when complete.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Review of formulas and functions

Activities:  Students will complete semester exam review over formulas and functions in Excel.  If don’t finish in class, for homework.

Thursday-

Topics: Review of formulas and functions

Activities:  Students to participate in Test review game over formulas and functions.  Winning team will receive 5 bonus points on their test grade.

Friday-

Activities:  Test over formulas and functions

Monday-

Topics:  Reinforcement of Excel formulas

Activities:  Students to complete Job 14 over formulas on the computer.  Save into Excel folder on flash drive and print when complete.

Tuesday–

Topics:  Review of Excel functions;  SUM function

Activities:  Students to take notes, then complete Job 29 over the SUM function on the computer.  Save and print when complete.

Wednesday–

Topics:  Review of other common functions (SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, COUNT)

Activities:  Students to take notes, practice functions with teacher, then complete function review on computer (Class Grades).  Must use functions, not regular formulas.  Save and print when complete.

Thursday-

Topics:  IF function

Activities:  Students to take notes, practice functions with teacher, then complete the “No jacket needed” exercise over the IF function on the computer.  Save and print when complete.

Friday-

Topics:  PMT function

Activities:  Students to take notes, practice functions with teacher, then complete exercise over PMT function on computer (COMP).  Save and print when complete.
