Monday-Thursday

Topics:  Discuss the presentation activity part of the travel agency project

Activities:  Students to create a presentation using PowerPoint including set criteria to “sell” their Travel Agency services.  Completed projects will be due by the end of class Thursday.

Friday-

Topics:  Presentations of Travel Agency projects

Assessment-  Students to present their PowerPoint projects to the class.  Must include criteria set by teacher.

Monday-

Holiday!

Tuesday-

ACT bootcamp being held in high school auditorium.  Due to a large number of students being gone, please bring something to read or work on in class today.  We will resume with the Travel Agency project tomorrow.

Wednesday-Thursday:

Topics/Activities:  Students to continue and finish the travel brochure began on Friday.   If don’t finish in class, for homework.

Friday-

Monday-

Objective:  Discuss the ‘Owning a Travel Agency, Business Simulation” project; discuss what a logo is

Assessment:  Students will participate in “guess the logo game” online; they will then come up with a business name and logo for their company including  set criteria.

Tuesday-

Objective:  Discuss what a slogan is; look at sample slogans

Assessment: Students are to create a slogan for their travel agency based on set criteria

Wednesday-Thursday

Objective:  Discuss how to create business cards and what should be included

Assessment-  Students to design a business card for their travel agency

Friday-

Objective –  finish any project tasks that were not completed Monday-Thursday

Lesson Plans- January 27-31, 2014

Monday-

Topics:  Discuss requirements for presenting  Amusement Park project

Activities:  Groups will be given time to work on presentations (decide who will say what, print out flyers or any other handouts, check spelling and that all slides are complete, etc.)

Tuesday-

Topics/Activities:  Groups will present their Amusement Park projects to the class. Students will then evaluate their fellow team members on set criteria.  

Wednesday-

Thursday-

Monday-

Tuesday-

Topics:  Amusement Park Integration Project

Activities:   Students to create a flyer to announce a special rate on a certain night.  Flyer must fill an entire sheet of paper.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Amusement Park Integration Project

Activities:  Students to design a t-shirt for their park.  T-shirt should contain the following:  name of park, slogan, appropriate picture, basic information about park.

Thursday-

Topics:  Amusement Park Integration Project

Activities:  Students to create a chart in Excel using any information relevant to their park information, rides, etc.  Chart must:  be a vertical bar chart; contain a title, x-axis title, and y-asix title; contain a legend; bars must be black and white represented by patterns, not colors.

Friday-

Topics:  Wrap up of Amusement Park project

Activities:  Students to wrap up any unfinished work on Amusement Park project.  Slides of t-shirt, flyer, and chart need to be added to PowerPoint as needed as well as an intro and conclusion slide.  Group members need to be listed somewhere in PowerPoint.

January 13-17, 2014

Monday-Thursday:

Objective-  Students will continue working on the Amusement Park project (powerPoint portion) in their respective groups

Assessment-  PowerPoint portion will be due Thursday by the end of class.  Will count as two daily grades based on criteria set by teacher for project.

Friday-

Objective: Students to continue the Amusement park project by creating a flyer for their park in Word.

Assessment: Flyer will be graded based on set criteria and worth one daily grade.

 

Lesson Plans for January 6-10, 2013

Monday-

Topics: Discuss Amusement Park project and requirements.  Students to choose groups of two.  Brainstorm ideas for their theme park.

Assessment-  Daily grades will be taken throughout work on project and complete project will also count as a test grade.

Tuesday-Thursday:

Objective-  Continue working on PowerPoint portion of amusement park project.

Friday-

Objective-  Finish working on PowerPoint portion of amusement park project.  What group doesn’t finish in class, will be for homework and due by the first of class Monday.

Assessment-  PowerPoint portion will count as two daily grades based on criteria set by teacher for project.

Monday-

Topics:  Review over charts

Activities:  Test review questions due.  Go over review as a class and make corrections as needed.  Test tomorrow over Excel Charts

Tuesday-

Topics/Activities:  Test over Excel Charts

Wednesday-Friday:

Topics/Activities-  Students to work on “About Me” PowerPoint project. 

Sub:  Please pass out and pick up project directions each day.

Monday-

Topics:  Test results; objectives for next  chapter

Activities:  Students to define the vocabulary from pp. 453 & 460 for the next chapter over charts.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Creating charts in Excel; column/bar charts

Activities:  Students to take notes, participate, then complete Job 58 over column/bar charts.  Save and print where indicated.

Wednesday-

Topics: Pie charts

Activities:  Students to complete Job over pie charts on the computer.  Save and print when complete.

Thursday-

Topics:  Review material over charts

Activities:  Students to complete Jobs 61 & 62 over charts on computer .

Friday-

Topics:  Charts in Excel

Activities:  Students to complete the Test review questions over charts.

**If don’t finish test review in class, for homework.  Due by the first of class Monday.**
